The "crown jewel" of White Oak Estates is the professionally staffed, state-of-the-art 14,000 sq. ft. Wellness Center. Features include an indoor warm saltwater pool and spa with therapeutic jets, locker rooms, fully equipped exercise room with strength training and cardio equipment, and an aerobics studio. Along with personalized exercise plans, land and water group exercise classes are offered on a routine basis.

The on-site therapy suite offers physical, occupational, speech, and aquatic therapy services on site for both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Contract providers utilize the treatment room for massage and other services which are available by appointment (Services subject to change upon provider availability).

Donna Evans

apartments Manager

Donna received her B.S. Degree in Sport Management with concentrations in Athletic Training and Exercise Science/Fitness Management in 2001 and her Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy in 2003; both from Western Carolina University.  She holds a Senior Fitness Specialist Certificate, and was also a Licensed and Certified Athletic Trainer for 17 years and a Personal Trainer for 2 years.  She has worked in outpatient rehab, cardiac rehab, acute care, and as an Athletic Trainer in the middle/high school settings.  However, Donna found her true passion when she began working with older adults in retirement community wellness centers in 2006. She joined White Oak Estates in 2012 as the Wellness Director before construction was completed on the Wellness Center, and in 2023 became the Apartments Manager.

Donna is from the Mountains of North Carolina near Maggie Valley and enjoys all things outdoors including, fishing, hiking, camping, and traveling.  She finds much joy and reward in her roles at White Oak Estates and strives to make sure all Residents and Wellness Community Members have opportunities to be well in mind, body, and spirit.
